(That's a line from an O. Henry story that has always caught my fancy.)
- We are now two payment cycles into the mystery shopping adventure, and I'm happy to report that the business is legit.
- The perfect house, in my opinion, would have two and a half baths: a full bath for the master bedroom, a full bath for the use of the family and overnight guests, and a powder room for the use of those just passing through. I like our home, and I'm not complaining a bit, but it would be nice if the bathroom we have to proffer our guests didn't also have to house the children's towels, toothbrushes, and potty chairs.
- While we're building castles in the air, the perfect house would also have a demand (as opposed to tank) hot water heater, a water filter/purifier for the whole house, hardwood flooring, an industrial sink in the laundry room, a pellet stove, an immense pantry, and a dishwasher that doesn't leak.
- I'm very much annoyed at the unavailability of cloth training pants for toddlers. I've scoured the stores, including those claiming to specialise in baby products, and there are none to be found. Are people today so incredibly lazy that there simply is no market for non-disposables?? I won't pay the ridiculous price for pull-ups, and I'm convinced that wet cloth gives an extra boost of motivation which moisture-wicking paper diapers simply cannot provide.

Good luck finding the cloth training pants. I had some thanks to a sister-in-law. It was nice to walk past the pull-ups and feel smug that I wasn't paying all that for them.

There are super-padded underwear for toddlers...great for training, and great because they are perfectly washable and re-usable! We love them and have trained six toddlers (three more to go!) with them.

Have you tried online? There's a lot more cloth-oriented stuff online than you would ever find in a store. Although I still see them from time to time.
I don't think cloth made the slightest difference for D1, but that was probably because she was used to cloth diapers. Or just trying to thwart me.
I did use pull-ups when we went out until recently (and even though she's done great for almost a month, had a major accident to clean up at the museum--must be more careful under exciting circumstances!)
I also use them at night--the really cheap off-brand ones--because we're still a long way from being dry at night and I didn't want to put her in diapers.
Good luck!
I've heard a lot of good things about Fuzzi Bunz. (HAHAHA -- name cracks me up every single time)

I've considered them from J2.
I'll be curiously following the blog to see what you decide! =D
google "cloth training pants" and you get a plethora of choices. They are still out there! Just got to hunt a bit more since the demand is smaller :)

We recently toured a "green" home (just to torture ourselves; we're YEARS from owning); but it had all the things you want including the hot water heater that only warms up on demand. And I love the new "antique" wood flooring that is a darker wood. -rlr
