Oh, bother!

I suddenly remembered that our computer at home is broken. Michael told me last night that the internet doesn't work and several of the more important applications are likewise beyond reach. This is a real drag, because it means I can't enter any more receipts into Microsoft Money. For the last two months we've been very good about tracking our finances, and it's so satisfying to click on the pie chart and create an instantaneous report of Where The Money Goes and ascertain that our tithe is indeed where it should be in relation to the whole pie, and we've been amazingly faithful about keeping up with the records...but I just know a little thing like this will throw all my good habits out of whirl. The receipts will pile up, and I'll stuff them into an envelope, and when the computer is fixed I'll probably just decide to start from that day forward. Also it means that Michael is going to have to spend the next several evenings working on it. As I said before, Bother. And buther, too.

Ugh, that's always happening to me. And then the Walmart receipts start multiplying like little rabbits--those are my department, because DOB keeps track of everything that he can identify from the credit card statement, but credit card statements don't kindly break down for you whether they are Household or Groceries or Clothing. I have a warren of them on my desk right now, which I am studiously ignoring.
