I can't believe...

...that culottes are making a comeback, only now they're actually calling themselves gauchos, as if a mere name change can disguise their intrinsic hideousness. Weren't the eighties styles bad enough the first time around, and shouldn't we be letting them cower in oblivion, instead of pretending that 'Career gauchos' can now present themselves in professional society?

i agree, they are hideous... and actually in the 70s they were called gaucho pants, so i guess its a re-renaming :-)

Oh, so they're actually from the 70s? Aside from not noticing how dreadful they were, I didn't notice I was a decade behind...I just thought they were a modest way to turn cartwheels. =)

I don't care what decade they're from or how they've been named and re-named, they are on the top ten list of Horrible Clothing Items and on the top five list of Clothes You Should Never Make Your Kids Wear (I don't care WHAT your religious convictions on modesty are).

Not are they only hideous in and of themselves, but the real popular ones are made of that terrible knit stuff. Not quite a t-shirt material, but sort of like that. AND! They are usually brown! ugh. ack. gag.
