Tact v. Truth

Tact v. Truth requires such a delicate balance. Last night in our Bible study, an in-depth look at the life of David, we were talking about the spirit of jealousy. I pointed out that while it was wrong of Saul to react wrongly to the accolades of the people with an improper spirit of jealousy, it was also probably not the wisest thing for the women to be saying things like 'Saul has slain his thousands and David his ten thousands' right in front of the king. 'Yes,' chimed in Marcela, 'They should have thought: Saul has slain his thousands - might be a thousand and one if I don't shut up.'
