For the shortest ones of the year, these days sure feel long...
We've been battling stomach flu in our family, and gaining at best a pyrrhic victory. Suffice it to say that this has not been a house of mirth for the last few days. Now we seem to be on the road to recovery, considerably weakened but with a firm conviction that we (at least the grown-ups, the one who are safely past the risk of contracting autism) shall jolly well take the flu shot from now on.

And then you realize that most of the awfulness of the flu is actually your body's defense system to eradicate the germ. And then you wonder what the flu could possibly do that would be worse than what the body does. Well, kill you, I guess.
Glad you're feeling better, glad it's over before this weekend!
